Talking about mental health, I would like to touch upon mental illness because getting over that initial fear of coming out to people about your condition could be so vulnerable at times. Everyone has scars, some people have them in their mind and some people have them on their legs. To elucidate someone about what precisely experiencing a mental illness is enigmatic sometimes. If love could keep us alive then we have people out there who would live forever but having a certain mental health condition makes you feel dead and worthless from inside. Going through a mental illness to some extent feels like fighting for a lost cause. Each day is no less than a struggle and the worst part is that you are constantly fighting a battle with yourself. Right in front of you, you could see a black cloud hanging and probably thinking that the world would be better off without me. It is almost like writing with a broken bone in the wrist and your anxiety would be off the charts. It’s a feeling that stays and you can’t seem to get away from it. It would appear like the entire world crashing behind you for basically nothing, nevertheless, it could be everything for the person who is struggling with this.

But most importantly, what comes along with mental illness is self-acceptance, the process of healing, and how to overcome the real obstacles. There could be times when you feel afraid of being ousted for going through something that’s completely normal. Nonetheless, your struggles and your battles with yourself makes you a person that you are today. People dealing with mental health issues spend years of their lives building themselves and who they really are apart from the stigma attached to it. Realizing this that in all probability, there is someone out there in the middle of the sky or in the corner of the city who would support and understand the whole idea behind the concept of ‘mental health’ encourages you to not give up on yourself and feeling apologetic for what you have been through or going through. In my perspective, mental health would be finding peace within yourself.
