To the world where one is engaged in #NEWNORMAL and #ONLINELECTURES. This is a Gratitude Letter to my money plant, who sits at a corner of my study table.

Dear Monu,
Well, I have the habit of naming my plants because they are my companions. You are a money plant, so I named you Monu because you know life is short plus it provides a bit of personality to you, my leafy friend.
In these uncertain times, it is normal for my attention to shift to the 'Current Affairs' in a "Bigger Picture" than usual. I start thinking about politics, religion, health, economic & social and environmental issues which start dominating my thought processes, making me overwhelmed by the end of the day. Where the world at large seems to be hurting so much - I tend to neglect the care of my mind and body. This becomes more fun when coupled with hours of online lectures leaving little time for my self-reflection.
Monu, your presence on my desk helps me to reduce my anxiety & depression by providing me with a sense of purpose. Taking care of you, decorating the bottle in which you have been planted, fosters positive feelings of empowerment and boosts my inner confidence, and helps to instill in me a certain degree of mindfulness and attention. You help me to connect with a sense of belonging to the natural world. When I am tired from attending online lectures, I look at you, all green and growing which is something therapeutic and calming to me. You uplift my spirit, ease my mind, and always help me in putting my worries aside.
Monu you deserve this gratitude letter for helping me to take care of my mental health and reminding me with small realities of what I am and from where I come.

Yours Loving Human,
Janet Fernandes
