It was a typical Wednesday evening while sitting under a tree I was observing everyone in the park. Just like any other day, I was stressed due to office politics. Sitting there I was surfing through my laptop doing casual stuff and seeking to evade the responses to the questions which were bombarding in my head. Merely then I noticed that a little girl was coming towards me, dressed in a pretty white polka frock and smiling as if she could sense that I am stressed.
I couldn’t resist but have a connection with her instantly, she convinced me to play with her and like any other keen kid, I relished her company. Throughout that one hour of joyous playing, I noticed the colourful blossoming flowers, the fragrant lilies, and the lightness encircling in the environment. Immediately I realized I have been missing a lot of happiness in my life.
However, before leaving she promised to meet me again tomorrow. The next day was fairly hectic with the equal amount of pressure, I entered the park expecting to see that girl, to my astonishment she came running towards me with that same happiness and we played, an hour passed by within a blink. The series followed and that one hour is now the happiest hour of my day.
Every day when I get back home, the child’s liveliness and zeal compels me to rethink my way of intricate living. As days passed by, I metamorphosed into an unconventional personality, a person who thinks a little less and feels a little more.
At times, while running she used to fall and get up laughing without feeling embarrassed. Kids don’t feel the burden of rejections, failures, losses, egos, reputations….NOTHING. For them, the only moment that matters is right now.
WELL DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO THAT KID WAS WHO CHANGED ME? IT WAS MY YOUNGER VERSION, EVEN TODAY I MEET THAT SAME CHILD IN ME WHEN I AM FEELING STRESSED, TO MAKE THINGS A LITTLE EASIER AND LIGHTER.
THIS IS NOT JUST A STORY BUT A REAL-TIME MESSAGE FOR ALL THE STUDENTS AND ADULTS WHO HAVE BEEN FEELING PRESSURIZED LATELY FOR ANY REASON, BECOME A KID AGAIN, THINK A LITTLE LESS AND FEEL A LITTLE MORE.
